We started out with mimosas and the small town parade with our friends. The park had festivities - relay and foot races, turkey legs with corn on the cob, a beer garden, and everyone that was in town for the weekend. I didn't hang out much at the park, but finally was able to have lunch at Sweet Peas - that sandwich was SO good! After lunch, Garrett and I went up to Tick Rock to meet our climbing friends and do a few routes. The day just kept getting better. We warmed up on a two pitch line that we never got to finish the second pitch because a storm rolled in. It was a beautiful day, with no storm cloud in sight. It was cool. We walked around the corner to another climb that Garrett projected a few years back. He got the climb clean! And then I proceeded with the onsight - ultra cool. Getting better minute by minute. We did a couple more climbs and when we were finished - Garrett was scoping and saw a bear on the other side of the canyon! We had to look through binoculars, but seeing a bear is one more super cool thing to happen that day. :) When the climbing was done, we went back to town and had dinner at our friend's place, including the best apple pie from the Lake City Bakery. So tasty! And if you don't think things could get any better, they did! The fireworks display was the perfect ending to the perfect day. I should have been wearing my "I heart LC" button!
