A Beautiful Day

Today was a great experience to realize my great fortune in life and provide a little fortune for someone else. I've wanted to do Habitat for Humanity for years now, but for only selfish reasons, I have not participated. I always felt it would be too much to organize and get people to commit. Lucky for me, someone else made the effort to arrange the group, the place, the date, and the time. It was a beautiful day to go build a house. I didn't do much of the building, but we painted the entired exterior of one house. I also spent a lot of time moving the scaffolding - not so glamorous, but it gave me good exercise for the day! It was a nice feeling to know I was helping someone else not quite as financially privileged as me to become a homeowner and more importantly, a reminder to appreciate all I have.
