Thursday of the wedding weekend was nice and relaxing, hanging out with Miss Gweny all morning, then the in-laws-to-be that afternoon. Gwen and I were able to get in a power hike a little ways up roundtop and have our typical deep conversations of course including serotinous topics. I love that girl, pretty much everything about her.

That afternoon, we drove up Engineer Pass with the Bales family. It was great spending time with Bill and Judy since we rarely see them. We had lunch atop of the pass with great views.

After our drive, I thought my family from SD would be arriving shortly and I waited in anticipation longer than I expected. Apparently there was a horrible accident in Bailey on 285 at the bottom of Crow Hill where a logger truck must have lost his brakes. My bridesmaids opted to take another route and didn't arrive until after 11pm, rather than around 9:30pm. My family on the other hand arrived around 9:30, but their flight had arrived in Denver that morning around 10am! I was thankful that everyone arrived safely.

Friday was a busy day, but fun. The weather wasn't great, dreary, cloudy and cold. Garrett and I wanted to spend as much time with the family as we could, so we planned a drive up to American Basin as a family and wedding party activity. We barely had enough cars to fit everyone, but we stuffed everyone in and we all became close friends, even if some started out as complete strangers! Needless to say, Judy adored Uncle Edgar after that trip! I was happy for everyone who came on the drive, to show them what Lake City really had to offer. We saw a mama moose with two babies! So cute :) We also stopped by the waterfall and then had a break when we got to the basin, hoping for the clouds to clear, which they did after a few minutes.

The way back was faster, not as many stops. The girls and I went to the bakery for lunch (we were starving when we got back) and then we went to figure out how to set up. The rest of the afternoon was spent setting up the tents, making corsages and then rushing around to get ready for the rehearsal dinner up on the hill. The weather cleared a tiny bit, but there was still a chill in the air. Everyone was amazed by the beauty of Gold Hill.

Once they were up there, everything made sense on why we wanted to get married on the Ranch, and made everyone travel great lengths to get there! The rehearsal went great, we were ready for the big day. Peggy, Judy and Bill all worked really hard on getting everything ready for the rehearsal dinner. What a great time, we had fantastic food and were surrounded by our closest friends and wonderful family. The slideshow was perfect and everyone loved it. The night ended at the bar of course, but the girls and I snuck out early and Gwen, Lins, and I jumped in the hot tub long enough for all of us to make wishes on shooting stars...
